Appearance Raven looks much like the late Neostar, with blonder hair and brown eyes. She has a determined set to her jaw and a menacing glare most of the time, as she has little skill in disgusing the passion of her youth. Her powers, while similiar to Neostar's, have a black tinge about them -- what some people refer to as a shadow. |

AEGIS Notations for Icarus Authorized Personnel Only Dominique’s story begins with her mother, Neostar. When Laeticia Lachlan was 19, she had a brief but passionate affair with a man named Dominic Saldano. Dominic and his older brother Armando were heirs to the Saldano crime family. When Lae learned of his criminal background, she left him and fled. When Lae discovered she was pregnant a few weeks later, she learned that Dominic had been killed in a shootout related to a family power struggle. Relieved but heartbroken, she had also learned of her sister Brightstar’s death at the hands of Pilot. Preston Angel IV contacted her about accepting her sister’s implant, citing her very close genetic match to the fallen hero. Lae agreed to become Neostar, but as a condition, convinced Preston Angel to secretly raise her daughter as his own. Lae knew she did not want her daughter involved in the dangerous world of Quasars and was absolutely certain she did not want the Saldano family finding out about her. Neostar went on to become one of the most powerful and veteran leaders in Team Liberty and Dominique was raised as Dominique Angel, daughter and one-day heir to the Angelstone empire. After the infamous 2022 Q-Games attack by Gothmog and the Copilots, Laetitia found herself trying to save Preston and her daughter from Gothmog’s deadly fire blasts. Neostar sacrificed herself to save her daughter, losing an arm and part of her leg in the attack. While Preston died in the attack, Raven was saved. Preston's wife, Theresa, told Dominique of her true parentage and how she and Preston raised her as their own. She explained why her husband chose to make the deal with Neostar to raise her child, seeing that Neostar was intent on avenging her sister and that she would resent her child for holding her back. Preston knew his wife wanted a child, and so made the unethical pact with the young woman who would become Neostar. Raven was furious at first, but she wanted to avenge her father’s death – and that became an obsession. Taking on Neostar’s last name and using information from her father's files, she came to Dr. Anson, who had recently created Team Daedalus. Raven implored Dr. Anson for a chance to receive an implant and join Team Daedalus but he refused. Dominique was approached by the Davido Saldano, who had learned of his niece’s existence. She fed her frustrations and convinced her to use her computer skills to attack Dr. Anson and his foundation. Dominique learned, too late, that Saldano was only using her to steal top government technologies. She was arrested, but the Davido Saldano swore to her that he would make her take her place in the crime family. The NSA worked with the FBI to have Raven charged with serious crimes. But it was only through the intervention of AEGIS, with Neostar’s influence, that she was cleared of charges. Dr. Xavier Brooks contacted AEGIS Director Elaine Battle about a proposition – grooming Raven as a replacement for Neostar. Realizing that Raven had much of the same education and aptitudes as her mother, Neostar, as well as the training and education provided to her by her scientist father, Preston Angelstone, Director Battle agreed to the proposal. Raven, seeing a chance to right her life and gain powers that would protect from a growing roster of Quasar criminals, agreed to accept a Q-implant. The procedure worked perfectly, but the replication of powers was slightly different. Raven had control of something called a Darklight, a form of anti-photon that had so far only been seen in the famous Shadowstrike. With her mother’s guidance and the training from Dr. Brooks. Raven learned to turn her powers into a potent arsenal of tools for both tactical and intelligence purposes. Raven took the name Ravenstar as an homage to her superheroic lineage and has since worked to become a vital member of Team Icarus. |
