In the late hours of December 2021, the SS Masterford, part of the Star Lake Ferry line, was traversing Milwaukee to Muskegon and was struck by a volatile object just below its waterline. The ferry began taking on water and while first response entities were quick to respond, the SS Masterford quickly sank, but retained a number of individuals who were still trapped inside with a limited supply of oxygen. Their plight was brought to the attention of first responders thanks to the efforts of BINAJ, a computer and communications array located in GILEAD base also lcoated in Lake Michigan.
Darkness, extreme pressures, and cold temperatures hampered rescue efforts by Team Liberty, who contacted Daedalus Foundation to use their unique technologies to help identify and rescue the victims, who had very limited time given the pressures and environmental extremes being imposed by the deep waters of Lake Michigan.
Daedaelus Foundation utilized its ULTRA mobile underwater transport to take in a crew of specialists to recover not only a half dozen survivors, but also three family pets trapped in the lower holds. With the Foundation's efforts, Team Daedalus was able to help recover the vessel and the bodies of twelve victims who perished in the tragic accident.
