The heroes, allied with a strange combination of old heroes, villains, vigilantes, and their own courage, must face off against Empyreal and those villains he has converted to his cause. Their mission -- to stop him from using the planetoid known as 658 Asteria from being used as a weapon to destroy civilization as it is exists. Empyreal wants to erase the world and remake it in his vision where Quasars rule and humans are their subservient children.
