Early rains struck northern Ottowa and caused subsequent flooding on several miles south of Hog's Back Falls on the Rideau River. Dr. Anson receieved a personal entreat from Abraham Valentine. Rescue operations were called off and while other teams were handling larger, more pressing crisis in the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest, the Daedalus Foundation mobilized a team of rescue operatives using experimental Q-tech suits of his own design.
The team, led by Commander Jon Browser, made their way down the river, using specially modified "Eurymedon" walkers. They were able to rescue a grouop of forty-three hikers and campers, which included a dozen children, who had gathered for their spring First Nations Remembrance festival in the northern lowlands. The Canadian government issued a commendation to the Commander and his team and a profound thanks to the Daedalus Foundation for "alacrity and innovation when dire need arose."
